Title: Visit Summary: A simple visit between old friends Rating: G Warnings: none Update: one-shot Original Post Date: 05/04/07 Other: For Avi, promt was 'Mura/Haru - So if I take off my top ....'
He's a school teacher, first history but talked into teaching Japanese with the little resources the small town he was at had, and he had to agree it was smart. Easy enough to get history teachers, but harder to get languages past French or Spanish in little backwater schools and kids needed a lot now a days. The kids are amused with his last name, annoyed to hear how normal the rest of it was even if Ken had been picked as a Japanese name. To them and their parents he's Mr. Murata, a good teacher with a open door if someone was having trouble but for the most part fairly normal. Most would be hard pressed to guess what his hobbies were, besides history and reading. He's written off as the classic scholar type and he can't say he isn't happy with that.
He doesn't really know how she's changed, they haven't stayed all that connected since the last time he visited, only Christmas and birthday cards now with the odd phone call here and there. He's going to Cross to meet up with her, it'll give him a chance to visit home afterwards and just plain see how the old place has changed. His change of clothes include two t-shirts, another dress shirt, three pairs of jeans, two slacks, and a few other things that haven't really seen the light of day in the last few years but still fit last he checked.
He comes in a day before their lunch date is set, spending most of the day walking around, making a stop by a certain house at the edge of town even if it hasn't had anybody live in it for a while. But the place is still clean, and he drops off his stuff before locking the door behind him, the total quiet strange and awkward even if those who lived there weren't all that noisy. He walks around the park a bit and past it, surprised to see the store still there but he doesn't stop in. The last stop is the hedge maze, a early dinner eaten sitting on one of the swings before he heads back to the house.
He wakes up the next day late for him thanks to the jet lag, and makes his way to the kitchen to fix some of the coffee he picked up the other day before getting to making toast and oatmeal, apple put on the counter with the other things as he sits down to eat. Then it's time for a shower, before he gets to dressing. First he combs his hair, leaving it loose until it dries while he looks over the choices. A grin crosses his face as he finally picks, first putting on black pantyhouse after his underwear, a black and red plaided knee length skirt next, sitting down to put on his boots and lace them up before grabbing a white t-shirt with pink, stylized angel's wings on it. The final touches are the choker, and with his hair now dry pulling it back into two low pig tales. He has a short blue jean jacket mainly for pockets, and he's ready to go now and fairly sure everyone would do a double take back at his town.
Cross, no one blinks an eye. Crossdressers and the like are a quarter a dozen and he makes it to the cafe with no one stopping him. The cafe isn't The Cafe, that's been closed for two years now and anyway he would have picked another one regardless. He gets to the place and only about three people are there, and he bypasses the counter to take a booth in the corner and wait for her to show up. When she does, he just looks her over for a moment before calling her over. Still cute, but he knows he's biased when it comes to her. She's aged well so far, and she seems to be okay from the way she holds herself. No ghosts come back to haunt right now, anymore then is normal with anyone who's been breathing more than a little while.
He's out of his seat, making his way to meet her as they both exchange greetings before ordering. It's simple, and not awkward. He kept the lines open, which is something. Who knows when he talked to anyone besides her or very rarely Michael, for that matter keeping track of where people went after school. He's kept his promise, and he's kinda proud of himself for that. They go for a movie after eating, like they're the two kids barely turned adults they were ten years ago. It's comfortable, and a part of him remembered how nice it was having a best friend to kid around with. They finally end up back at the house, bottle between them as they play card games, things turning to strip poker after he made a joke with a lecherous grin on his face and she gave him proper punishment. His skirt is off first, he makes a strip show of it with a laugh before they get back to the game. It's her next and he tries to talk her into taking off her top, offering a bribe after pestering didn't work.
The rest of the night passes quickly, them calling it a night after three more games and the bottle half drained, finally deciding on sharing a bed since there's only the one and it's not like either of them care. She's asleep first, while he ends up thinking. He'll get that present to her tomorrow, and it's odd how fate works when nine years later he ends up with a woman he used to like in his bed, long after any romantic feelings had faded. Yes, she's still attractive but he cares more about their friendship then to do something stupid like fuck it up just for some good sex. But it also is kinda funny how they ended up meeting on this day, slipping back for a bit to how things used to be on a fey day that disappears for three years here and there, sometimes even longer. Later there'll be pranks before they have to part ways, but for now he just lays and relaxes, keeping the moon company.
